Nearly twice as many children die from congenital heart disease in the United States each year as die from all forms of childhood cancers combined.  We're working on several fronts to prevent and treat these devastating events.  more

How many lives are touched by congenital heart defects?  About 36,000 babies are born each year with heart defects.  At least 35 distinct types of defects are recognized, ranging from simple defects to complex malformations.  Most defects can be corrected or improved with surgery or catheter-based therapy.
