Through the Alliance, OSHA and the American Heart Association work together to raise awareness about heart disease and stroke and develop programs to reduce death and disability from these conditions in the workplace.

The Alliance agreement’s goals include:

  • Developing training and education on CPR, AED and first aid programs
  • Outreach and communication about prevention and training through the AHA training network and OSHA’s regional and area offices and state partners
  • Speaking or exhibiting at OSHA or AHA conferences, local meetings, or other Allliance partner events such as the Emergency Cardiovascular Care Update (ECCU)
  • Working with other Alliance participants on specific issues and projects on CPR, AED and first aid training programs that are addressed and developed through the Alliance Program
  • Nationally promoting workplace safety and health

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)/AHA Alliance was originally signed Nov. 20, 2003, and was renewed Feb. 2, 2008.
