Conference Description and Target Audience
The two-and-one-half-day scientific program gives physicians and research investigators an opportunity to enhance their knowledge, advance their skills, and learn about the latest developments in research pertaining to:

The program will include state-of-the-art lectures and more than 350 oral and poster abstract presentations and discussions led by authorities.
Workshop on Sex Hormones, Gender and Hypertension – Molecular Mechanisms to Clinical Implications
This one-day workshop precedes the CHBPR Fall Conference at the Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio, Texas, on Oct. 4, 8 a.m.- 6:30 p.m. The workshop will be followed by Poster Session I, which will include abstracts on this topic selected from the "Gender and Hypertension" category. Separate registration is required for the workshop. Program available soon.

CME credit will be offered.
Abstracts
Abstracts selected for presentation will be published in the October 2006 online issue of the American Heart Association journal Hypertension. Abstracts accepted for publication may not be published or presented at any national meeting or world congress in the United States before the conference.

Publication
Abstracts selected for the program will be printed in the October 2006 issue of the AHA journal Hypertension. All presenters will also have an option to submit a manuscript for the spring 2007 supplement issue. Further information will be provided here when available.

Hotel Accommodations/Venue/Transportation
The conference will take place at the Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio, Texas. The hotel is located at 101 Bowie Street and is adjacent to the Rivercenter Mall and the San Antonio River Walk, and steps away from the Alamo. The Marriott Rivercenter is located eight miles from the San Antonio airport and can be easily accessed by airport bus to downtown hotels or a short cab ride.
As of early September, the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel no longer has rooms available at the conference rate. Please visit the website for the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau for more information on local hotels.
