Go Red For Women Tampa Bay
Our Hearts. Our Choice. Choices. We face them every day. Some choices are un-important, some are life-changing. But what if the choices you thought were small were actually the ones that mattered? The stairs or the elevator? Baked or fried? What if these choices meant you were the one woman in every three to die of heart disease this year? Choosing to ignore your heart health might not seem life-changing today, but women like us are dying of heart disease at the rate of almost one per minute. Luckily, this number one killer of women is largely preventable. But only if we choose to act. Choose to Beat Heart Disease at GoRedForWomen.org Go Red For Women Tampa Bay brings the power of the Go Red For Women movement right into our community. As part of the Go Red For Women movement aimed at empowering women to take charge of their health, the 6th annual Go Red For Women Luncheon will be held at the A La Carte Pavillion in Tampa on May 6, 2009. The Go Red For Women Luncheon brings attention to the threat of heart disease to women as well as creates a call to action for all women to commit to living a heart-healthy lifestyle and to become a champion of their health and the health of their families. It also serves to inspire, enable and mobilize men and women to advocate changes on the local, state and federal levels that will impact women and heart disease. The event includes educational breakout sessions and a keynote speaker. For more information please contact Ann Pogue. Get a free 10-Year Risk Assessment.
