We are humbled that during these trying economic times our donors continue to generously support our mission of building healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.  It is vital for the American Heart Association to continue funding live saving research and education programs and we cannot do so without the financial support of all of our donors, at every giving level.

Cardiovascular disease and stroke affect us all; cardiovascular diseases account for one death every 37 seconds, stroke is the leading cause of serious, long-term disability, congenital heart defects are the most common type of birth defect and today’s children have shorter life expectancies than their parents due to obesity.  The American Heart Association is working to change these alarming facts.  Risk factors of heart disease and stroke are largely preventable and preventable illnesses make up 70% of the total illness costs nationwide.  However, last year, the AHA was able to fund less than half of all grants deemed worthy of funding; we need your support now more than ever!
