Acute Stroke Online is a self-paced, continuing education course designed for in-hospital and out-of-hospital personnel, particularly experienced healthcare providers who are involved in the care and treatment of suspected stroke victims.
Acute Stroke Online was designed to support the high demand for stroke education due to The Joint Commission requirements to maintain stroke center certification. This course was previously offered by the American Heart Association in printed form as the Acute Stroke Booklet.
This course is available for Continuing Education credits for physicians, Physician Assistants, nurses, and Emergency Medical Services by their respective organizations. After passing the online test, participants receive an AHA completion certificate and can receive CME certificate (ie, CME/CE/CEH) if desired. Physicians earn 1.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ and Physician Assistants AAPA accepts Category 1 credit from AOACCME; Prescribed credit from AAFP; and AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME. Nurses earn 1.50 contact hours and EMS CECBEMS for 1.75 Advance CEHs. |
