Introducing Grants@Heart, our new Web-based system for applicants, grant/fiscal officers, peer reviewers and awardees.  Some of the advantages are:
  • No paper copies!  All you need is Internet connection and a Web browser (Internet Explorer for PC; Safari for Mac). 
  • You can access our system 24/7.
  • Grant officers submit applications.
  • Fiscal officers can access all AHA awards from their institution.
  • Peer reviewers can review applications, write critiques and nominate other peer reviewers.  The peer review meetings are paperless.
  • Single sign-on for all AHA research processes.

Current Awardees
The association's research dollars support the most worthy projects selected from a substantial pool of applicants.  Awardee lists are updated in mid-February and August.

Awards Administration
Provides administrative information for awardees, grant officers and fiscal officers.

Peer Review
A peer review committee reviews and grades applications for research support on the basis of scientific merit. 

Focused Research
The AHA has also partnered with other organizations to support cardiovascular research beyond its financial resources.

 
What's New


The American Heart Association-Pharmaceutical Roundtable Outcomes Research Centers (Duke University, Mid America Heart Institute, Stanford University and University of California) invite applications for two-year postdoctoral fellowships.

The Clinical Research Program is being offered by seven of the eight affiliates.

The Midwest Affiliate is offering a new Undergraduate Student Research Fellowship Program.

Special Funding is available for research in ataxia cardiology, pediatric cardiomyopathy, resuscitation, geriatric cardiology and emergency medicine. 

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) published the final regulation allowing Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Event data to be used for program oversight and monitoring, research, analysis, care coordination and disease management, public reporting, public health functions and other purposes.
